IEA 14th World Congress

The International Economic Association invites submissions of papers to be presented at its 14th world congress. This event is scheduled to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on August 29 – 2nd September, 2005.
- The Programme Committee
The scientific preparation of the Congress is placed under the responsibility of the IEA President, Professor Janos Kornai, who is assisted by an international Programme Committee, co-chaired by Gerard Roland and Laszlo Matyas.
- The programme
The programme will focus around two main themes:
(1) New trends in economics
(2) Understanding the great changes in the world
The area of theme (1) includes, among others, issues like:
- New results in behavioural economics
- New institutional economics
- Pressure for and constraints on publication
The area of theme (2) includes, among others, issues like:
- Globalisation and new development in trade theory
- Economic development
- The first fifteen years of post socialist transition
- Honesty and trust
- Format
The Congress days will be devoted to invited lectures on the main themes and to parallel sessions of contributed papers. Papers are suitable in any subject area of economics. Topics of broad interest to countries throughout the region are also welcome.
- Paper submission guidelines
Papers and abstract should be sent only electronically to the Co-chairman of the Programme Committee, Professor Laszlo Matyas, Central European University, Budapest, Hungary, to the following email address: IEA-WC@CEU.HU by January 31, 2005. Please include your name, affiliation, title of the paper, postal and email address.
Papers should be written in English. Submissions that do not follow the above procedures may not be considered.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by May 1st, 2005.
